This is a preliminary announcement for virtual mini-workshop on Generative Models and Soar.  The goal is to bring together people interested in different combinations of Generative Models (GMs) and Soar. (We are restricting presentations to those about Soar to keep discussions focused, but depending on interest, we might expand to include cognitive architectures aligned with the Common Model of Cognition.)

Dates are tentative, but likely to be 4-6 hrs. one day between 6-8 APR 2026 (Specific time of day to be finalized based on participants locations).

Topics may include (but are not limited to):

  • Using GMs for processing input

  • Using GMs as an external or internal knowledge source, to seed Soar’s memories

  • Using GMs as tools for authoring, debugging, and managing Soar programs

  • Replicating Soar/cognitive architecture functions with GMs

  • Integration of GM-based functionality/capabilities within Soar

  • Etc.

Given the “in the weeds” discussion of Soar anticipated for this meeting, participation is by invitation only. If you are interested in contributing, please reach out. A summary of this workshops discussion will be presented at the 2026 Soar Workshop later in the spring.
